Our Opportunity

The Assistant Director - Enterprise Change Management is an experienced subject matter expert, working under limited direction and exercising reasonable autonomy and accountability. 

 

As the Assistant Director your duties will include, but are not limited to the following:

  • maintain and improve IP Australia's enterprise change management capabilities, including working with diverse stakeholders to gather and validate data, provide advice, deliver presentations and uplift organisational change management capability
  • maintain and mature enterprise, portfolio, program and project- level change management solutions
  • create and maintain delivery governance document libraries, including fit-for-purpose templates
  • provide guidance and advice by applying technical expertise and a multidisciplinary approach to help teams better understand and mitigate risks and improve delivery outcomes
  • collaborate with key internal partners (including the Communications, HR, and project teams) to identify and develop tailored advice on holistic change management approaches and sequencing
  • coordinate the development of Group-level operational plans and the Whole of Agency Change Impact Assessment
  • coordinate the capture and review of lessons learned to inform future decisions
  • prepare advice, reports and briefing materials to Senior Responsible Officers and Senior Executives to assist risk-based decision-making
  • support the transition of change to business-as-usual using relevant, measurable data to monitor progress and realise benefits
  • lead and develop a small team through mentoring and guidance to support team delivery and achievement of outcomes
  • support other activities across the section as directed

The right person for this role will possess the following:

  • effective organisational awareness and ability to tailor communication and operational approaches to meet the needs of the intended audiences and situations
  • creativity - identify and implement innovative ideas or approaches to drive framework implementation and continuous improvement
  • high level knowledge of relevant sources, standards, frameworks, policies, guidelines, legislation, and best practice models
  • ability to breakdown technical concepts and explain them to stakeholders in an easy-to-understand manner
  • excellent written and oral communication skills
  • ability to balance competing priorities to deliver quality outcomes
  • ability to monitor service delivery and respond credibly and efficiently to stakeholder needs, reactions, or feedback
  • qualifications or professional certification in a relevant field such as Prosci Change Management Certification or the Certified Change Management Professional (CCMP) designation is highly desirable
